Recently, the wonderful photos of photographer/IT worker/solo adventurer Tomasz Furmanek have caught our eye. The photos were taken as he was kayaking around Norway’s fjords during a few months of solo travel. We think his photos are simply stunning and that they do inspire going on an adventure - even if that means alone, and to explore and uncover the beautiful natural surrounds. We’ve selected a few of our favourites from among Thomasz’ pictures, you can check our more of his shots here and here.

This #gopro photo is from a remote beach on the south western coast of Moskenes Island, #Lofoten Islands, #Norway. It can be difficult to access since the strong Moskenstraumen tidal current is just south of this place. You can see full-size photos on my Facebook page, link in my bio. In collaboration with @hattvikalodge and @kristoffervan we are running kayak events in Lofoten Islands this summer. Contact @kristoffervan for more information. Denne stranden er på vestsiden av Moskenes, litt nord for Lofotodden. Bilde tatt i 2014.

A sunset shot from #Lofoten Islands some weeks ago. @chrisfors88 and @emmamoe32 playing in the waves while I am trying to take #gopro photos without getting seawater on the lens. In these conditions it is difficult to keep the lens dry and clean. I am kayaking the Rockpool Taran 18 Taken during our kayak photo workshop with @hattvikalodge and @kristoffervan. Most of my photos are taken on days with nice weather, but there are far more rainy days than sunny days in western Norway. I usually take fewer photos on rainy days since it is difficult to keep the camera and lens dry. The fjords also look more dark and gloomy. This is taken late evening in Nærøyfjord, about 2 hours paddle from Gudvangen. I usually have a mp3 player with music or an audiobook on these whole day trips with bad weather. The fjords look different on days like this, but I still enjoy it a lot. Sony rx100mk2 Kayak: Seabird Designs NorthSea Full size photos on my Facebook page

Repost of my most popular photo in full size. This is my favorite photo from one of my favorite places. I prefer to paddle alone in this area in the evenings outside of the tourist season. I also like kayaking here during winter. The photo was taken on the border of #Aurlandsfjord and #Nærøyfjord #Norway #Apple used this image in their Keynote when they presented the #gopro app on Apple Watch a few days ago. The photo was taken with a gopro 3+ black edition in wintertime after sunset. #visitnorway #fjordnorway Fullsize photos on my Facebook page

FEATURE: PHOTO BY @cf_findingwater , Christoffer Forsberg took this photo in Steigen this summer. @cf_findingwater kayaked with us in Lofoten this summer and has some kayak shots from this area in his feed. Steigen is an area that I plan to visit with a kayak. I have been to Steigen, but never had the opportunity to kayak there. This area has sandy shallow waters and nice mountains. #gopro 4 #Norway This photo is not accurately geotagged, it shows the general area.
